Welcome to KG Artistry! My name is Kathy and I am a fluid paint artist living in southern California. My passion is to create unique and vivid pieces of art that capture the eye and bring pleasure to the viewer.

I started my art journey after retiring from a successful career in education. Mixing colors, blending ingredients, and using a variety of artistic techniques allows me to express my feelings and thoughts about the world around me. Each day is a new day and I never know where my art may take me that day. Every surface I see, whether it be canvas, glass, ceramic tile, wood, or stone, is a surface waiting to be painted!

I really enjoy finding items to paint and repurpose, such as jewelry boxes, flower vases, and wine glasses. Something that may look worn and out of date, comes to life with color, design, and detail.

My medium of choice is acrylic paint and mica powders. Most of my creations are given a top coat of epoxy resin which brings out the sheer vibrance and brilliantness of the colors, designs, and textures.  It also preserves and enhances the longevity of the art piece.

When I first started painting I had no idea I would sell my creations, but I painted so often, and created so many lovely things that I ran out of space. So I went to art shows, country bazars, and craft exhibits to share and sell my pieces and converse with others about the joy of creating and painting. 

This web site is the next chapter in my adventure. Its been a challenge to get it up and running, and I know I still have a lot to learn, but I hope you enjoy the creations and visual experience!
